Reviving a proven model of brotherhood.
DEFEND revives and modernizes the European heritage fraternal society — bringing a time-tested tradition of mutual aid and cooperation to a new generation.
DEFEND revives and modernizes a time-tested expression of love for our people: the European heritage fraternal society. For more than 150 years, organizations such as the Ancient Order of Hibernians (peaking at approximately 181,000 members), Order Sons of Italy, the Polish National Alliance, and numerous German and other European heritage groups delivered mutual aid, job networks, trade directories, hospitals, orphanages, and burial funds while maintaining private-club status and tax exemptions. These organizations embodied a deep commitment to the well-being, advancement, and mutual support of their own people. Even today, it seems every culture but our own has recognized the benefits of outward social cohesion and preference for one's own people.
DEFEND brings this model home to the Tampa Bay area — Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Manatee counties. This is our region. The non-European-heritage population continues to increase rapidly in the region, and with it comes the destruction of the culture that truly embodies the USA: our culture. With this replacement comes declining social trust, higher violence, and growing economic instability in many of our hard-working communities. We believe our cultural submission and the attempted erasure of our people — and the subsequent decline that followed — was the problem. The reestablishment of strong, high-trust networks among our own is the solution.
We offer a private, high-trust economic and cultural network for our people, by our people.
No more wondering if the car on Marketplace is a scam. No more paying the extra scam fees. No more wondering about the values and morals of the daycare center and their employees. No more worrying about whether you're being taken advantage of by an A/C repair company or a slimy service salesman. Members of DEFEND are fostering community. Member-providers are business owners in our community who recognize this and agree to adhere to a strict standard of moral character when conducting business with other members.
